Parking and Traffic Enforcement is an emotive issue. Here are some of the comments we have received.

I've been driving for 20 years now and I consider myself to be a careful driver. Just recently I received 2 parking tickets and a speeding ticket all in the space of six months. I wasn't driving any differently, so what has changed?

I've been visiting my daughter in her new home in Norbury, reaching her from here via the M23/A23 (on which speed cameras sprout like weeds) and yesterday drove, to visit my son, from Norbury up the A23 to where it joins the South Circular, and thence on, via the dreaded Wandsworth, to Putney. En route I observed at least a dozen unfortunate motorists caught in box junctions, and reflected on all those PCNs at £120 each that would be landing on doormats in the forthcoming 10 days. As I waited at several for the route ahead to be clear, I was aggressively hooted at from behind a number of times.

The road where we currently rent our house on has parking restrictions from 11am to 3pm because it is close to the train station. Nothing wrong with that; without it being in place I'm sure the road would be a nightmare. However I bought a chest freezer and delivered it home. Finally got in it in the house myself and when I went out to move the car there was a traffic warden there. I explained what I was doing to him and that I was moving it as I live in the road. I know the rules but surely there has to be some allowances for residents if i'm moving things in and out of the house. He just looked at me and said abruptly, "Your parked illegally. Got a problem you can appeal against it"
